THIS NOTICE IS HEREBY ISSUED TO CORRECT THE ORIGINALLY POSTED PRESOILCITATION NOTICE. THE NOTICE WAS INADVERTENTLY ISSUED WITH THE WRONG RESPONSE DATE. THE NOTICE RESPONSE DATE IS HEREBY CORRECTED TO READ 02/23/2012.The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 20 plans to issue a solicitation for the design /build service to renovate the two Optometry exam rooms into four exam rooms at the Walla Walla VA Medical Center located in Walla Walla, WA. This notice is not a solicitation. The project is 100% set aside for service disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). Size status of the successful contractor may be confirmed with the Small Business Administration prior to award. To be eligible to submit a quotation the firm shall be registered with and will be verified with the Veterans Administration's Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE) at www.vetbiz.gov. Firms not certified by the CVE as SDVOSB will not be considered. In accordance with VAAR 836-204 the magnitude range for the project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is General Commercial and Institutional Construction 236220 and the small business size standard is $33,500,000.00 in average annual receipts. The period of performance for the work is 90 calendar days (~3 months) after receipt of notice to proceed. The work will be performed in an operating facility and includes, but is not limited to, all tasks necessary for the renovation of two exam rooms into 4 exam rooms. Tasks may include, but are not limited to: architecture/engineering, infection control, site preparation, hazardous material abatement (asbestos and lead); concrete work, masonry, structural steel, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, utilities, wall and floor finishes, and sustainability elements. The successful contractor will be required to coordinate this project with that of other contractors performing work in close proximity at the facility. The VA will consider all proposals received in a timely manner from viable SDVOSB concerns, meeting the criteria outlined above and in the forthcoming solicitation, whose primary business is general construction.
