Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: Company to provide the following; company name / VAT registration number and status / business address / telephone and facsimile numbers; contact name; and registered office address. Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if requirements are met: Company to provide; balance sheets / statements of overall profit / loss and turnover; profit/ loss and turnover for construction works for the last 3 years; evidence of experience of similar projects with a similar contract value; provide a list of similar contracts undertaken within the last 5 years within the public / private sector including value / dates / customer addresses so that references might be sought; provide evidence of public liability insurance / employers liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
Minimum level(s) of standards possibly required Employers Liability 10 000 000 GBP; Public Liability 10 000 000 GBP for any one occurence; and Professional indemnity insurance - the Contractor will be required to take out and maintain insurance cover with a limit of indemnity of not less than ten million pounds (10 000 000 GBP) in respect of each and every claim or series of claims arising out of the same originating cause in respect of any negligence by the Contractor or of any sub-contractor or supplier (including for the avoidance of doubt the consultants) or his or their respective servants or agents in the performance of their professional duties. The contractor further undertakes to renew such cover annually for a period expiring no earlier than 12 years after the Taking-Over of the Works provided always that the same continues to be generally available in the market upon commercially reasonable terms and at commercially reasonable premium rates. A financial test will be based on the annual contract expenditure being no less than 10 % of the contractor's annual turn-over so contractors with less than 120 000 000 GBP turnover would need to prove collateral in the form of a parent company and provide a parent company guarantee.
