Rope climbing equipment. The special project search and counter measures delivery team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence, intends to award ActSafe Systems AB a contract for a powered, submersible rope ascender.
It is considered that this requirement can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication as permitted by Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical and interpretability reasons.
ActSafe Systems AB is the only supplier who is able to provide a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) product capable of single handed and underwater operation. The ActSafe Systems AB solution meets the technical requirement within a delivery timeline of July 2012, and provides a system that is interoperable with existing user groups.
