The Headquarters Air Force Services Agency (HQ AFSVA), Directorate of Programs, Child and Youth Programs Divisions is seeking sources of providing 10 music recording camps for youth ages 9-18 years over school breaks (spring, summer and winter). The camps will be provided to 10 CONUS installations throughout 2012.

This is a Request for Information (RFI):


Seeking a 5 FULL DAY WORKSHOP (*all inclusive) to include but not limited to:
8 Hour Workshop -Recording Session; MAKE A MUSIC VIDEO; Voice Intonation Class
How Music Affects Decisions on a Cerebral Level; 2-3 Hour Songwriting Session (Students Go Through Creative Writing Session)/2-3 Hour Recording Session (Recording Studio brought on site) Students write and create a song. We provide music of all genres for them to choose from. They create the song around whatever topics they vote on. Afterwards, they rehearse and then record. Professional Mixing; Manufactured CD for EACH student; Music History; Lyric Foundation-Lyric Foundation is where the students learn the process of song creation. They learn how rhyming words are used to create choruses and verses. They should also learn how to use brainstorming techniques to structure a song.


Mock Music Business Trial-Students learn math/percentages behind the business - Students learn how math is used in record deals that current artists are in contract with. They learn the percentages used and why math and reading are so important when signing contracts.


The real life business deals between superstars today; "Name that Sample" - Youth will get to hear different samples of songs and name the song and artist. Copyright/Publishing - Teach youth the understanding of copyrighting laws and publishing rights. Promotion/Advertisement Techniques Used In Music Business; Radio and Interviewing Etiquette (Interactive Activity); Dress Code/The Power of the Color - Students learn how color can tell the consumer a lot about how major that artist/musician is. For instance, your larger well known recording artists wear clothes that are gold or silver (Michael Jackson or Britney Spears) because it represents success, power, and money. That determines if the consumer sees this person as an A-List Artist or a C-List Artist.


"What Makes This Artist HOT" -Students evaluate all the elements of what makes an artist successful from those who aren't (from different styles of hair, music, clothing, makeup, etc). Then the students take what they learn and create their own style or invention. How to Become A YOUNG BUSINESS ENTREPRENEUR

This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlements to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of a submission of responses to the RFI and Government use of such information. No response will be forthcoming to the respondents of this letter.
