RECOVERY This project is funded in whole by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).The project is located in Carson National Forest, Taos County in New Mexico. The work consists of hazardous fuels reduction in the form of manually thinning primarily pinyon pine, juniper, ponderosa pine with some douglas-fir and white fir utilizing chainsaws, hand piling thinning and residual slash. This includes furnishing labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals except those items listed as government-furnished property. The work will encompass approximately74 acres of forest. Slopes are flat to steep. The number of cut trees during the treatment is estimated to range from 200 to 800 trees per acre. The anticipated performance period for this work will be 60 days after notice to proceed is issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotations and an electronic response will be due on or about 18 March 2010. Specific details for quotation submittal will be included in the solicitation package when posted to this site. This solicitation is being conducted as a Small Business Administration HUBZone Set-aside under FAR Part 19.13. Offers will only be accepted from HUBZone certified providers. This is a Commercial Services acquisition and the SYNOPSIS AND BIDDING TIMES HAVE BEEN SHORTENED in accordance with FAR Part 5.203 (a)(1), 12.205 (c) and 13.5. Potential offerors should take note of the reduced bidding time and plan accordingly. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow up information requests. The solicitation with specifications will be released and posted to the https://www.fbo.gov website on or about 3 March 2010. No hard copies of the solicitation and applicable amendments will be mailed. To receive the Request for Quotation package and any applicable amendments, offerors must download them from the https://www.fbo.gov website. An organized pre-bid site visit WILL NOT be conducted. Potential offerors are encouraged to visit the site on their own prior to submitting an offer.
