II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
The contract is for the transport of food, clothes and waste (including hazardous waste) to and from municipal institutions. The contract includes return transport to/from selected treatment plants for the waste. The contract also includes handling waste from institutions including hazardous waste (cf. the regulations on infectious waste).
Furthermore, the contract also includes transportation of food from the central kitchen at Halden nursing home to elderly persons living at home (40-80 deliveries per day).
When carrying out the service, the service provider shall always ensure that the products are handled in such a way that their quality and condition do not deteriorate.
The awarding authority shall have one service provider who shall provide all of the requested services.

Reserved contract:
This competition is restricted to companies where most of the employees are disabled and their disability or extent of their handicap means that the employees cannot carry out work on ordinary terms, cf the regulation on reserved contracts in the public procurement regulations § 3-12.
