Irish Rail currently use glued insulated block joints in the track as part of the signalling control system. These glued insulated block joints are purchased in 9mt to 18mt lengths, fully assembled, by outside suppliers. The glued insulated block joints are manufactured using an insulated glued joint kit specified by Irish Rail.
This notice is being issued so that Irish Rail can check the marketplace to view the availability of proven insulated glued joint kits.
This will enable Irish Rail to specifying a particular kit type to be used in the future manufacture of glued insulated block joints.
Glue Joint Kits must be suitable for use with 54E1 and 60E1 rail sections and in 4 and 6 hole configuration.
Supply will be direct to Irish Rail or to a nominated supplier who may be located in Ireland, UK or Europe.

4. A description of the suppliers technical facilities, its measures for ensuring quality and research and development, if any.
