220 kV Underground Cable System

220 kV, 4-Circuits, XLPE Type UGC Giza North P.P./ Abu-Ghaleb Substation

1.

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), has applied for a loan from the "European Development Partners" (EIB, European commission, AFD and KfW) hereafter referred to as EDPs to finance the XLPE power cable Contract for 220 kV underground cable connecting Abu Ghaleb S/S & Giza North Power Station.

The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), hereinafter called "Owner", invites sealed bids from international Bidders for 220 KV underground XLPE cables for connecting Abu Ghaleb 220/66KV GIS S/S to Giza North Power Station - Approximately 3 km route lengt (Four circuits). (The Works). The scope of the Works includes:
"Engineering, design, fabrication, factory testing, site delivery, loading, unloading installation of XLPE cables, supervision of erection, site testing, commissioning, insurance till handing over & warranty of the detailed scope of work is specified in Bid documents Volume 2."

The completion period is (8) months starting from the contract signature. The tender document is available at EETC cashier presentation of payment receipt of a non-refundable USD (1000) to EETC acount No. 11001007177, National Bank of Egypt, Nasr City Branch Cairo. The bank receipt shall be enclosed with envelop (A)

Bidders may obtain further information from, and inspect and acquire the Bid documents, at the office of EETC, at:

All bids must be submitted in two envelopes (A & B) clearly marked "220 kV underground XLPE cable, connecting Abu Ghaleb 220 kV GIS S/S to North Giza Power Station" and be accompanied by Bid security (US$ 2,000,000 in the form of Bid security), and must be delivered by hand to:
EGYPTIAN ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION COMPANY, ABBASSIA, Cairo, EGYPT., ATTENTION: HEAD OF PURCHASING AND STORES SECTOR.
On or before the 12th of December 2011 at 12:00 Cairo local time. Envelope A of bids will be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of those Bidder's representatives who choose to attend. Envelope B will be opened for the technically accepted bids on a date to be announced later.

Bids will be valid for (180) days started from the opening date of the technical envelope.
