Op de voormalige logistieke site van een frisdrankgigant aan de Siemenslaan in Oostkamp, gaat de gemeente haar nieuwe bestuurs- en dienstencentrum onderbrengen, waar de publieksgerichte diensten, de back-offices en de technische diensten zullen worden gehuisvest.
Ook de diensten van het OCMW vinden er een nieuw onderkomen, waardoor de synergie en de service aan de bevolking nog worden verbeterd.
Na dit perceel worden begin 2011 ook de terreinaanlegwerken aanbesteed.
Het ontwerp wil maximaal de bestaande situatie hergebruiken in haar nieuwe functie, en toch een sterke architecturale belevenis bieden aan haar gebruikers. Voor de publieke en dienstenzone van het gebouw wordt binnenin de bestaande industriële constructie een landschap van witte wolken gecreëerd, doorsneden met lichtkoepels en vensters waar deze raken aan de bestaande grenzen van de bestaande constructie. De publieke diensten hebben een infobalie en gespreksruimten in clusters, die zich als een dendrietstructuur in dit inspirerende landschap bevinden.
Elke dienst heeft een eigen karakter door het kleur- en materiaalgebruik, en door de typografie en de informatie die op de clusters zijn aangebracht.
